Lufthansa Cargo Update on Strike by Cabin Crew Union UFO

November 10, 2015 – The cabin crew union “Unabhängige Flugbegleiter Organisation” (UFO) has announced further strike actions until Friday, November 13th. The strike actions shall hit all flights of Lufthansa Passenger Airlines between Wednesday and Friday.

Lufthansa will cancel 930 flights on Wednesday. An updated flight schedule is available at www.LH.com.

Lufthansa Cargo will keep flight operations running as scheduled. None of the Austrian Airlines flights will be affected either. Staff worldwide will do their utmost to keep the potential inconvenience to customers at a minimum. Affected shipments will if possible be rebooked to other flights as well as to Road Feeder Services. Lufthansa is currently preparing the deployment of additional freighter connections, which will be communicated in the course of the day (Tuesday).

Lufthansa has also filed for temporary injunctions against the ongoing strike by cabin crew. The court in Dusseldorf halted Tuesday’s strike for crews at Dusseldorf airport, ruling that the strike was illegal because the union had not clearly defined its aims and demands. It is due to consider an additional request by Lufthansa to end the planned strike up until Friday on Wednesday afternoon.
